I don't know Marcel, looks a little "Flat" to me (ha ha ha):p;):cool:

Great shot, I must have used four different back rounds for mine not happy with any of them, so I took it outside and put it on the front steps and settled for that.

Thanks for the comments AxeMan. but, generally speaking, they go sharp during the summer months (no strings attached) :)

But today is back to piano people. This one was right on pitch when the picture was taken.

I'll be shooting a live concert tonight if they let me. I phoned the hall manager and said it shouldn't be a problem, but he hasn't seen the 70-200 2.8 yet… to be continued.

Last night's concert was great but there isn't much light at these things. I had to take the iso to 8000. But, all things considered, I'm happy with some of my shots (the microphone was the culprit that prevented me to get more keepers).

By the way, this singer's name is Madeleine Peyroux and her voice is the closest thing to Billie Holliday that I've ever heard. She has quite a few albums out, lend an ear you won't regret it.

And yes, I did use the D700. Just fantastic, except for the shutter noise. The D7000 in quiet mode would have disturbed my girlfriend a little less, but I wasn't sure about the results.

Nice pic. I think I would have positioned the subject more behind the piano between the pic on the left and the corner thus opening up the the 2 pics on the right.

You certainly captured the gloss on the piano. Pretty good considering the conditions.

Silvertip may have a point about positioning the subject, but looking closely at the shot, doesn't appear that there is much room on the back side of the piano. Not sure how you would have posed your subject back there either.
