Post your favorite shot, (or two)

Cool thread. Great photos here. I think I will add mine. "Can I add 2?" "Yes" "Thanks."

    Lawrence's 365 for 2014

14th August I tried to make a tyre look cool like Tommy can - failed but hey! I tried! The yellow clay soil that predominates around here is clear to see.

    Lawrence's 365 for 2014

I was fooling about earlier today with Elements 11 and had a bit of fun creating this new image I want to use as a profile picture on a dating site. I think I should pull real chicks - not the shallow ones.

    Lawrence's 365 for 2014

12th August. Nothing exciting today - project was to play with Perfect Effects 8. It looked a lot easier and more effective when Matt did it on the video. But I will get there - I am determined.

    Lawrence's 365 for 2014

11th August I did try and get the big moon this morning but the planned shot was thwarted by clouds. This was the scene just before I gave up and had a second cup of coffee. And then later I went out to pick some fruit and decided to shoot a bowl of citrus and change the look in Perfect...

    Super moon

Here she is: This was disappointing as I was hoping to get the moon sinking into the ocean behind the islands (my view) but at that point it was totally obscured by clouds. The shot pictured was a test shot while I was setting up! Not happy with second prize. This was is brown/yellow because...

    Lawrence's 365 for 2014

Same day ... This property has 4 or 5 old gold mine shafts on it. I am too nervous to venture into them but they are interesting and those old folks were both brave and nuts. The height of this shaft is maybe 6' so it isn't very high. That grey/brown stuff on the floor is water and it is about...

    Lawrence's 365 for 2014

10th August Not sure I like this last one. Too many shadows which I seem to have now overcooked in trying to correct

    Trying to get lighting right

I want to do some portraits and have one old Sunpak GX14 off camera light … plus of course that bid orb that shines through the window occasionally in winter in New Zealand. So tell me what is wrong with this informal portrait shot with emphasis on the lighting please. I am not too fussed about...

    Lawrence's 365 for 2014

8th August I found this delightful little stream with lots of small falls and rapids. Can practice on them for hours. Next time I will take my gumboots for better access. Be sure to click on them for a better effect.

    The Mountain Lions

47 Minutes of an amazing documentary about lions and some astounding photography for my Nikonite friends. I was particularly impressed with the size of the paws. Enjoy! National Geograhic The Pack Lions 720p - YouTube

7th August Only birds today. Very disappointing as I went out with something else in mind but couldn't find "it" Oh well "it" will show up one day. First the "bird" of paradise. I'm not overly joyed with any of them but I am not going out again as it is flipping cold and windy and raining.

    Lawrence's 365 for 2014

6th August Confined to barracks by the weather today. This is an original oil hanging in the lounge/kitchen area. I thought it might look good in monochrome but it doesn't really. Click to enhance.

    Lawrence's 365 for 2014

August 5th Busy day and busy night. Pressed for time so all you're getting is a loaf of homemade Amaranth gluten free bread - inspired by, and cooked as per, Oldhippy's thread. Straight out of the oven handout of camera with zero processing - like I said; pressed for time.

Thanks Vixen. Here is a not so good photo of one of about 4 ponds on the place - all with theses Chinese bridges.

    Lawrence's 365 for 2014

August 4th @Vixen you asked for it. Lots of drama getting these including getting my car stuck - on grass! The wheels just spun and I had to walk up the monstrous driveway to fetch the Ute. Pulled the car the required 2 meters then took the Ute back. Followed by the downhill walk to get back...
