I was surprised by this Egret and only had about one to two seconds to aim and shoot. On top of that I was hand holding my D600 with my Nikon 70-200VR lens with a 20E III 2X teleconverter added on. I was really lucky.
I have been posting some shots that were done with my D600 at ISO H2 or 25,600 over in the D600 thread and can be seen HERE. I thought I would post one here for you to see. This was taken at 9:48PM as I drove by this McDonald's doing 45 MPH I grabbed my camera and pointed it out my drivers side...

I shot this a few minutes ago with my D600, Nikon 70-200VR and Nikon 20E III 2X teleconverter. This was shot using a rail on a walkway as support and the subject was about 8ft away at the equivalent of 400mm.
