I can't say enough about how pleased I was shooting at night in Las Vegas recently with the Nikon D800. All hand-held, no tripod. It is unreal the sensitivity and quality of the sensor even pushing to 4000 ISO shooting f2.8 with the 50 mm 1.4G.

Just ordered the Sekonic L-308S light meter, for those special moments under the strobes ;) Will need it for a studio model shoot coming up this Sunday.

Re: Preperation for wedding photography Hi Scott, personally I would have the 16-35mm on the D600 and the 85 mm on the D800E. Then both cameras with flash units (SB-800 is my own preference) with something like this: Notice how I have it facing backwards as I use it purely for bounce flash...

I'd say aperture priority so you can shoot wide open and then control the aperture. Also are you going to use some kind of diffuser on the flash or bounce it? I use this setup:
