    Best Nikon DSLR for Video?????

On the contrary, if you are serious about video especially cinematographic video, then you will be considering the D800. To get the same quality from a regular video camera as what the D800 provides you'd be looking to spend $10-40k. It is that good.

    Nikon 300 mm f/2.8 Ai-S Lens meets the Nikon D800 :)

Thanks Glenn, here's a closeup of the ID plate taken by the original owner that sold me on this particular lens. I was like, how could a lens this old be in such good condition? Apparently the guy was an exception...a professional that was very careful with his lenses.

    Nikon 300 mm f/2.8 Ai-S Lens meets the Nikon D800 :)

So I finally got the 300 mm f/2.8 Ai-S lens and this particular one is the last generation of MF lens prior to the AF line coming out. These lenses were made between March 1986-December 2005 (based on the SN) and have a close focus of 3m. Below are photos of it on my D800 along with the 1.6x AF...

Battery Grip - really worth it??

It is personal choice in terms of how you shoot. The grip helps for vertical shots and of course battery life. It seems you don't shoot much flash off the camera so perhaps you'll be fine. I personally love the look and stability of the grips but sometimes I enjoy the lighter weight and...

    Post your flower pics

Took this long ago with a 100-300 zoom with close focus in a marsh. The flowers themselves were in a spot of bright mid-day sunlight shining through the bush, while the background was in shade. So I underexposed quite a bit (I think at least -1.5 to -2.0 stops) and rendered the background...
