    Ultra wide on a D7100

This was as 4ish am with enough ambient light to where I couldn't see any stars. I intentionally over exposed it with a high iso and reduced the exposure. The 10mm Roko seems ok. Now that I've got the new camera figured out for night shooting, I need to find somewhere dark.

    Impressive high ISO performance

People are so hung up on the FF better the DX koolaid train and there is no pleasing people it seems. These fox were in the dark until I increased the exposure to reveal them. Not going to pull that off with D7200, D810 or D750.

    Ultra wide on a D7100

I couldn't wait. I took some star pics in the neighborhood (50 miles SW of Chicago not dark skies by any means). These aren't even close to ERRT. My D500 works different shooting stars than my D7100. I'm having to shoot Manual Auto ISO and use exposure compensation. I'm still working on...

Do better lenses result in better photographs?

I have to take pictures of birds that far and they look like this. Not much to do with birds that far (no pixels). These were with a 600 and 1.6TC. Nobody is taking incredible pictures at that kind of range.

Do better lenses result in better photographs?

You need the 70-300VRG it is a very nice lens and would end up your favorite. I have a Tamron and Sigma zoom and know exactly what you're talking about with those issues.

    Babies, Babies, Babies

I've got some fox kits but they are almost full grown. I hope that is fine. The big lens is focusing behind on the D500 and I need to calibrate if the sun ever comes out. The first two with the fox in the brush were high iso. I've got some around 50k but not posted (a little rough looking...

The longest Harrier picture ever. I was surveying Harrier and Short Eared Owls and got this guy at around 800 yards with fast disappearing light.

Can you help ID this bird please?

What in the world is this bird? I was doing some long range counting of Harrier and Short Eared Owls and saw this guy and shot a few frames.

    Astrophotography

Now is a good time to shoot Jupiter. One of these intentionally has excessive exposure as I was trying to capture moons besides Europa and IO. This one is excessive exposure Here are star pics about 60 miles SW of Chicago. There are with a 58 voigtlander set at 1.4 and the other at 2
