    Post your motorcycles.

Eventually. My first street bike was a brand new 1979 Triumph Bonneville Special. I passed up on some faster new Japanese bikes and chose this beauty... The first motorcycle owned by the founder of the Motorcyclopedia museum was also a Triumph. That '69 Daytona chopper of mine needs much...

    Post your motorcycles.

But not obvious enough for me to think of it! :D I haven't heard the term in years. (And I have a 1969 Triumph Daytona chopper basket case in my garage although, technically, only the carburetors are in a basket!)

AF-S 24mm f/1.8G images won't show up in MacBook search

When I type "24mm" or even "AF-S 24mm f/1.8G" into the search box of my MacBook Pro's Finder page, I get no photos taken with this lens in the results. Typing in any other focal length, like 180mm for example, will list all the images made with my AF 180mm f/2.8D ED IF. Any focal length typed...

Opening files in a folder on a MacBook (Big Sur)

Is there a way to open a folder full of photo files and then view them one at a time by using the arrow key to navigate through the folder? I'm a former PC user and I'm frustrated when I open a folder full of photo files on my Mac and have to double-click each to open it, then close it, then...

Peak Design Everyday Backpack, magnetic closures, and my newer MacBook

The Peak Design stuff is not inexpensive. Hopefully, the quality and durability will justify the price I paid. They do offer a used/refurb/returns selection on their website. I was considering that as a slightly more affordable avenue. At the time I ordered my 30L Everyday Backpack, they...

Peak Design Everyday Backpack, magnetic closures, and my newer MacBook

In my seemingly never-ending search for a handy camera pack, I finally gave in and ordered a 30L Everyday Backpack from Peak Design. I watched countless YouTube videos before finally clicking the "Buy" button (and wincing with pain from the price). So, naturally, as per Murphy's law now that...

    Post your spiders

An old photo from the film days: a tiny Goldenrod Spider ready to munch on some sort of very small diptera... A crop... There is probably no exif on the photo files... IIRC, shot with a Nikon FE2 on PB-4 bellows with a Nikkor 28mm AI(-S?) on Fuji Velvia. (Scanned with a Nikon Coolscan.)...

    Post your 'ALMOST' Photos..

The D750 was at home. The D200 and some lenses were sitting in the car. I was in the woods with just a little Fuji XP130 in my pocket. :( This was almost a very satisfying photo of a young porcupine... it continues to haunt me as "the photo that could have been."

    post your aviation shots!

Nice! We have a wonderful aviation "museum" here in NY called the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome. You spend the morning wandering through the buildings, looking at incredible mostly-WWI-era airplanes. Then, in the afternoon, they roll out a bunch of them and put on an air show, complete with...

Post your favorite February 2022 shot

Nothing special... I guess because the subjects are friends, I like the photo a lot.

    Fill flash

Yesterday I was snowshoeing with friends and set up a quick photo on a hilltop with the background bright with snow and back-lit. I had my AF-S 24mm f/1.8G stopped down to f/2.2 to get the shutter speed down to 2000 and popped up the camera's flash for fill. It didn't go off. When I stopped...

Checking new lenses for autofocus tuning

I got to snap a few photos with the Nikon-serviced AF-S 24mm f/1.8G and it seems to be working fine now. I'm relieved, pleased and eager to make use of it. Some friends visiting the lake for the holiday weekend:
