Even (especially?) the older ones. Those dreamy sand cast engines!

At the time, I was afraid to ride a bike that costs as much as the MV ... not trusting my own skills as a rider. After putting in lots of miles on my BMW though, I wouldn't hesitate to do it now.

It is a piece of cake to ride, a tad on the heavy side though:encouragement:

Remake of an old classic

Old thread but it looks like it might be the correct place for these. Saw this while walking around town a couple of days ago.

My last ride

Rode HD touring bikes for many years until wear and tear on my back caught up with me. This is the last one I owned, a 2008 Electra Glide Ultra Classic. The image was shot just south of Point Piedras Blancas on Pacific Coast Highway as I was headed home from a Sunday breakfast ride. The remains of the Point Piedras Blancas Lighthouse are just barely visible in the background.

Anyone finding themselves at the top of New Jersey (USA) would probably enjoy a visit to Space Farm. It's not, as the name might seem, a farm that grows astronauts, but rather a combination museum and wild game preserve owned and operated for several generations of the Space family. The museum portion is divided up into a number of large structures, each covering their own speciality. You'll read this same paragraph in several forums where I've posted pictures relevant to the folder's theme.

They have only a few motorcycles on display, but they are beauties:

That last one is a basket case. (Obvious joke, I know....)

But not obvious enough for me to think of it! :D

I haven't heard the term in years. (And I have a 1969 Triumph Daytona chopper basket case in my garage although, technically, only the carburetors are in a basket!)

Only the carbs? Dude, get that bad boy going again - that's history!

Eventually.

My first street bike was a brand new 1979 Triumph Bonneville Special. I passed up on some faster new Japanese bikes and chose this beauty...

The first motorcycle owned by the founder of the Motorcyclopedia museum was also a Triumph. That '69 Daytona chopper of mine needs much more than having the carbs rebuilt and mounted; that springer front end is extremely worn out and very wobbly. I'm wondering if it can be bushed to tighten it up.

if the Springer is shot you are probably better off replacing it. Bushings get kind of iffy around the front axle. I wish I could still ride, I have to say I love those old British choppers. That could be a lot of fun.
