    January Monthly contest

I almost tossed in last night to eliminate the judging or even counting of likes, both of which seem to be the real chores. Could do a post at the end that mentions all the entries that received 10 or more likes, since they get highlighted now.

Why not start a topic suggestion thread specific for the Monthly Assignments and let people add topics as they think of them. Should build up a good stockpile of topics.

    Macro Mysteries to Solve

#107 is a mint. Altoid to be precise. Could have almost maybe say it was solved with the sugar guess because sugar is the first ingredient, but then not exactly.

Here's two more shots of the same object reflecting the same sunlight at different angles and maybe a bit further away that #122.

    Macro Mysteries to Solve

I'll leave that one to be pondered for a bit. Here is another and it's a bit different. A near 1:1 shot of sunlight reflecting off of something. What is the something?

    Eyelight's Technique 52 for 2015

EV -6 After the initial trial run, wanted to try something not usually seen with a long exposure. I had to add a few seconds to the shutter open time due to losing aperture diameter to the closer focus. f/3.2 @ 646 seconds f/3.2 @ 649 seconds

Okie dokie. Here's another. This is actually a crop of a fairly close shot of the object of mystery. I'm guessing this crop is close to 1:1 DX.

    Macro Mysteries to Solve

I think this is a new one. It's not what it looks like, unless of course it looks like what it is. Should be close to 1:1.

    Macro Mysteries to Solve

Sorry. Not even close. See. I told you it was an easy one. That's it. Good old natural sand. Here's an 889 pixel crop from the middle of the original which was shot near 1:1, I think.
