Help me Please with my camera

If it is an IR conversion, I would think you would be better served to sell it and purchase another. I don't know much about IR converted cameras, but I believe they go for a premium compared to full spectrum models. You say you believe it has a filter on it. What is the filter, and have you...

    Clovis' Nikon Nuggets

The Pup and I went out to Magnolia this morning. Not much happening. The birds weren't around much, insects were mostly gone except for a few bees. I had to resort to some "tourist" shots like this one. I did have a little anole poke his head out to see what I was up to. I channeled the...

Post your Bees in Flight photos!

I was surprised I got this one in focus. Usually, it's just a fuzzy bee. I was sizing up this hibiscus blossom for a pic, and this bumblebee just flew right in. Man those Hibiscus flowers are tough to get a natural look to the color. This was as close as I could get.

    Signs, signs, everywhere there

Actually, it's been a great year for mosquitoes. On the other hand, it's been a bad year for those of us having to put up with the mosquitoes.

    Post your men/ladies at work

I just remembered I have a couple slides of it. Turns out it was in 83. BTW, that's 1983, not 1883.

    Post your men/ladies at work

I remember being in Athens back in the 80s. We were walking down the street and there was a construction site where they were excavating a skeleton. Just another day in Athens.

I've worked as a volunteer on a number of archaeology projects. In those, everyone worked hard. Well, almost everyone. Fortunately, most of them were underwater, so heat was only a factor when on the boat. I would imagine it would be hard to dig anywhere in a town in Europe without running...

Good to see you back. Glad you had a good trip.

    Post your latest purchases.

Looks like a nice tripod. That's more than I'd be comfortable spending on an occasional use piece of gear.

Regarding copying files from computer to my Nikon Z8

If you don't own a CFexpress card reader, I would highly recommend you purchase one. They are not expensive, and downloading those large image files is extremely slow over USB connection. At least that is the case with my Z7ii.

I can't imagine why, but I could try my Z5 next time out.

Working with a long exposure image

Well, for me it was just about drawing the eye down and away from the tree and the sun. The first image posted has a minimalist simplicity with the contrast between the soft water and the harsh, crisp lines of the tree. Yes, there are the small branches and the reflection of the tree trunk to...

Working with a long exposure image

I hadn't thought much about the footprints. They don't really bother me, but it may clean things up a bit by removing them.

I tried removing the grey without success. I think it may be from the light fog we had that morning.

Working with a long exposure image

Thought I'd post this for contrast. I was giving the RAW files another look to see if I had overlooked something that needed editing. I found this image that was taken 3 minutes later from a different angle. It doesn't resonate with me as well as the first one. I did remove all the other root...
