    Tracking down a falcon

I set up one of my User defined modes for birds in flight on my Two Z cameras. I can be ready for a bird in flight in seconds. You only have to remember which of the three is set for BIF, and then turn the dial to it.

    Clovis' Nikon Nuggets

Tried the Boneyard beach again today. Wasn't really much impressed with anything I got. While trying to get a shot of a tree in the water, I noticed a pod of dolphins feeding close to shore. They were really putting on a show. I had trouble shifting to my long lens, as I didn't want to put my...

First proper Zf's day out with birds - local raptor show, shot via FTZ 70-200VR1

My nature photography club had an outing to a local raptor rescue facility last month. We spent several hours photographing a variety of different birds of prey, and were able to get shots I would never be able to get in the wild. I make no apologies for shooting like this as long as I don't try...

    Clovis' Nikon Nuggets

I was looking through the images I took at the Center for Birds of Prey this morning, in case I missed something. I thought I'd edit this one. I probably didn't edit it earlier because the bird was landing on a rather unsightly portable perch. I thought I'd use the new remove tool in PS to...

    Post your Tree Photos !

Another great "mood" image. I really like the layers of diffusion and tones. We don't get fog in my area that often.

Vote for Weekly Photo Challenge Nov 6th - Nov 12th "Birds"

Don't sell that image short. It has a lot going for it. The major component being mood. And don't forget, it is very difficult to have a good image of a bird from behind. There were some excellent entries by all.

    Post your macro photos here

Here they start working on Christmas stuff after Halloween. When I was growing up you didn't put up Christmas stuff until after Thanksgiving. Of course when I was growing up we had mammoth for Thanksgiving dinner, and used a saber toothed tiger fang for the tip top Christmas tree ornament. I...

    Post your Train shots!

I always thought it was "All along the southbound odyssey, The train pulls out of Kentucky." It's actually Kankakee. Found that out not long ago. I'm still puzzling through Louie Louie.

    Post your latest purchases.

After my experience at the beach earlier this week, I decided to get some, at least minimal, protective gear in case it rains when I am out shooting. Rather than spend a bunch of money on a top of the line product for something that would likely be only very occasionally used, I opted for...
