Day 336 - 12/1/2012

Wow, first of December already... Looking at all the photo's on this site, I have such a long ways to go and so much to learn. It is great though that everyone here shared so willingly.. It is a super help. I feel I have come a long way in 2 1/2 months but also have so much more to learn. I practice (shoot) constantly... and monitor what you all do and it sure helps, gives me ideas and goals to meet.

1st up today, after receiving my 300mm lens, I did a couple tests on the various focal lengths.

I am pleased with the extra range over the 200... and considering I can reach down to 18, I am pleased with my range for what I am shooting... IQ seems good out to the 300...

Looks like a very good lens. I've got the same reach in my bag too. 18 out to 300 and lots in between. I'm hoping that's enough, and I can keep some money in my pocket.

Day 336 - 12/1/2012 - Part 2....

Ok, here are a the first couple real shots out of the camera... I know, everyone is tired of the moon shots... and here are 2 more! Hand held yesterday morning before I left for work... looking up over my house. Unfortunately, the really good shot with some clouds was on my way in while driving. When I got to work, the clouds had totally wiped out any sign of the moon.





Then, on the way home... I stopped by a local farm in Litchfield NH and snapped some of the annimals...




More from the farm Tomorrow....

Thanks Ted... Tough to keep the money in the pocket but I think I am done for awhile
I have tried to be Frugal after the first purchase of camera and lens. The next 3 lenses included 1 used and 2 re-furbs and I saved considerable (and lucked out as all seem Excellent).

Day 342 - 12/7/2012

Today I have some industrial shots. I work in a manufacturing plant and can find these all day long.. Where I have worked in Manufacturing since 1968, it is something I have been close to and I find it easy to photo'










Not everyones cup of Tea but something I enjoy... Have a great day and a great weekend my Nikonite friends...

Thanks Ted... Her parents are special too... My neice sara met her husband at West Point.. They both graduated, got married and both served in IRAQ... he as a Blackhawk Pilot and she as an MP (not at the same location) He is still in and she is now out but employed by the government.. This is their 2nd daughter

Proud of them both...

This first one is an HDR (3 shots bracketed - put through Photomatix) This is an old barn that had been converted to a restaurant many years ago, at that time called Silo's Steak House. Under new ownership now, they have added a new paint scheme. (Next to it is a detail of the art - single image)
