Thanks Iansky. A friend came over yesterday and we got a lot of the tree off the roof. He cut, my husband threw the cuttings off the roof and I got to drag them to the curb. Slept really great last night.

In some circles, that's a rolling redneck pool! Remember, no diving!

Not quite yet still waiting for @Needa and @PapaST to post

From what I remember, PapaST lived close to the river in Jacksonville (Jax.) Although some parts of the city encountered flooding, I can't determine if the area he lived in did. Hopefully, he did not have flooding.

But to show that some have not lost their humor, an acquaintance from long ago joked that their "waterfront property" was now "water-all-around property." Fortunately for them, they are covered by flood insurance.

How are you and Chris doing, Marilynne?

Any work on Wako and Green Cay? I've read reports that the C-B-B was hit pretty hard and is still closed. No word on why it's closed, but I did hear from someone that the water levels were very close to covering the trails. No word about trail blockage.

We're doing okay. A little worn from chopping and dragging part of the tree from the roof to the curb.

Green Cay is open and Wako is closed. I think Kevin mentioned CBB had some trails flooded.

How are you doing over on the First Coast? The talk is of a flooded Jacksonville.

Thanks for checking up on me. We JUST got power back last night after several grueling days. The generator sure earned its keep at my house for another year. We missed the brunt of the blow and we consider ourselves very lucky, but it was still a Cat1 and our area was heavily flooded. My neighbor across the street could literally paddle board from his backyard to his neighbor's OVER the property fence that stands 6' tall. That's how bad the flooding was here.

Lots of damage in this area. We're in recovery mode now and just getting ourselves back to normal. We are fine and consider ourselves lucky considering all the other damages we've seen so far.

Here's a snippet of a video I took at our neighborhood park a couple of months ago when we test flew a drone. And then below is probably one of the iconic photos that embodies Irma and Jacksonville (found on Jacksonville.com website).

Some one's still missing. Can't remember the handle (having a senior moment), but he lives in Pt. St. Lucie.

PapaST. It's good to hear from you. That's quite a story; was your house flooded as well?

Their up here for the summer Wayne they have been told one piece of siding is off and a small piece of the steel on the roof Dad called a guy to fix it no water got in but they've heard others in the park have alot of damage

That's fortunate. I hope everything gets fixed up quickly for them. Also, I'm glad to know that they are ok and weren't in danger since they were up north.

That's good to hear, PapaST. Have you had much rain over this weekend?

WM

It's funny you should ask. This weekend we had a noreaster roll in much the same way Irma came in weeks ago. As the rain continued and the winds picked up I kept getting a shellshocked twitch in my eye. haha, yes, it rained almost all weekend.
