These next few are found on the grounds where the Orchid Society use to be.

After doing some research, I believe this is an African Tulip Tree (looks like the buds in the gallery at the bottom of the page)

Thought you had one of your PP creative moments there :D this is the beauty of a foram with members from different parts of the world you see so many things for the first time

Apparently the Orchid Society planted a bunch of different trees on their property. They've moved on and the new owners (a school for the handicapped) have no idea what these are. There were some signs, but the lawn service and time managed to break them. Everything seems to bloom at different times of the year.

great shots Marilynne, i notice that they seem to raise their head feathers when they come close to one and other?

Thanks Roy. Maybe it's part of the mating process.

Nice Heron shots for sure but the tree shots, especially the first one, are beautiful.

Thanks dramtastic. They seem to have different colors with the different seasons.

He was probably afraid you wanted his lunch ;)

really looks. . . . yummy

Thanks Mike. I think you're right. Hope he enjoyed it!
