Thanks Roy, they're both nesting. There are four different heron nests on that tree island, along with six or seven cormorant/anhinga nests.

more great shots, i missed one of these on Sunday while showing Rebecca the fish swimming around the dock, we got too close and off he flew, i failed to spot it, should have known it always sits in there, beautiful looking birds

Marilynne, I just want to say that you take a lot of great pictures of a lot of different subjects. Keep up the great work!!!

Thanks Jeff. I prefer wildlife, but shoot whatever is available. You know, practice, practice, practice.

Kestrel - this one was zipping all over the place. Not the greatest, I was amazed I was able to get some in focus.
