Thanx Nikonpup most of my nice pics of her are with her horse so this is a switch snuggling her big brothers chickens. I like it but needs to be cropped or something I'm just not sure what to do with it. I thought maybe black and white but that lost that nice sun going down glow

you need to frame #86!

Agreed, really nice pic.
My missus loves the one in the snow with your kids in the distance and just the colour of their coats breaking up the whiteness of the snow.

She actually said, "Oh wow that's a great pic".

My lad is 25 and still very camera shy, I wouldn't dare put any of the very few pics up that we have of him, he'd go nuts, lol.

Spent all afternoon in the snow as the kids had a winter carnival at school so skating, snowshoeing etc in the school yard along with maple snow candy that they loved :) After school we took a walk and found some brave subjects to take pics of

I absolutely love three little monsters in a row. That snap is just cool...snow and trees and monsters composed very nicely..I would love to see it HDR'd... :)

Thanx they were actually waaay ahead of me but I had my 70-300mm on my camera so they had to be in order to get this shot. Wish I'd put on my 35mm but with slushy snow coming down I didn't want to carry extra stuff and do lens changes. I love some of the HDR shots I've seen on here but that is beyond my technical experience. I'm still just using my iPhoto

You're welcome to give it a try maybe you could get the slough down below to show up instead of just white through the trees

It's a very very nice shot...great mood too.

Diagonals tend to move your eyes away from the subject of interest. You have a small diagonal of snow with the kids. Verticals used in such a picture stop the eye from moving along the diagonal and out of the picture. The trees do this in your picture. So you get an A+ in composition on this one plus the color is just right. Very very nice snap.

Yes he made me smile as I looked out the kitchen window this morning so had to get my camera :)

I took my camera out as I went to check on critters and was going to take some pics of my ducks but my youngest sons kitty had different ideas. My son picked this guy from the SPCA last spring and we were told he may have a hearing issue. Well the cat is completely stone deaf! Can't hear anything at all and so he's completely oblivious of the chaos he creates around him.
getting Romeo and Lucy goose all stirred up as he strolls along

now inside the duck pen to check for mice but stirring up the ducks
NIK_4741.jpg

A few of my ducks decided to get out of the away from the scary cat LOL
NIK_4748.jpg

Sitting on top of the duck pen casually looking around without a care in the world while the ducks and geese are going nuts! I can't call him so just have to wait for him to turn towards me

Not a care in his quiet calm world

Here's some oldies of the same cat and yes we do see green here LOL not great pics but nice to see I've already improved :)
We had him on a horse lead line when he arrived because he'd never been outside before. I was nervous because my horse was a new arrival as well and very spooky! We hadn't realized yet just how deaf he is

no fear at all just walking along with the dogs who before meeting this nonchalant cat would have totally given chase

yesterday I put my new polarized filter on my 35mm and gave it a try. I was worried it would darken everything since its so grey but wow LOVE it! Now I need one for my 300mm!
The river is already melting so we had a great time exploring the shore and watching the ducks
Heres some ice passing us
