Such a face - love at first sight!

I'm crazy about dogs. We have a great wire hair fox terrier that's dripping with personality and she loves to tease.

Aleta is a basset hound, correct?

Hi teagueAMX, thank You, she is a "Bacco Italiano". They are popular in Europe but still pretty rare over here. My Daughter bought a male from Czech Republic and a female from Spain a few years ago and they just had a litter of 10 puppies nine months ago. I had the pleasure of taking care of them from the day after they were born till now because my Daughter had to work. So I have been with them their whole lives so far. She has a mobile grooming business. I totally fell in love with all of them as they grew. If you are interested in seeing more of them go to my Smugmug page I have more pix of them all there. And do you have any pictures of your dog on here, I would like to see her.

I see Bacco Italiano are portioned about like a medium size hound. Very nice looking dogs.

I really love the photo of Bacco Italiano with its head on your chest. My dog is exactly the same. Very affectionate, and love spending time with you more than anything else.

I'll have to dig around for some photos of Jack. Up until a month ago when I got the d7100 I didn't take many photos. But that's changing.

I'm a big fan of different styles of architecture and the Craftsmen style is one of my favorites. In the Riverside, CA area where I live, we have a few streets that are loaded with excellent period style houses. Some are very large mansions in what would have been the upper income area of that era. I'm going to cut my teeth on a full day of "M" mode experimenting with various shutter speeds, aperture, ISO, and maybe even some HDR.

It will be a challenge because I think it's hard to shoot houses so they look interesting to anyone but a fan of architectural periods and styles. The Green and Green "Gamble House" is one of the more famous example (image from Wiki). I've looked around on the net to see what other people are doing and that helps. Wish me luck.

WE need to keep this to shots that you have shot and that were shot with the D5100.

Well, good luck with your new camera teagueAMX. And my apologies to the moderator and other forum members. I guess we got a little carried away with the dog talk and got off topic. I will watch that in the future. Sorry. My shot was taken with my D5100 though.
TeagueAMX I'll PM you.

Finally got lucky with a proper practice gig and this one of the best shots IMO

I really like it. normally don't like B&W that much and cutting off the back of the head WOULD be strange but this is perfect. The entire shot leads your eye directly to the hands and the painting which is the real subject of the photo.

Hey Pat,

Cool colours!

Your flower contributed to my day, thanks!

Next time, look at all the details:
a stamen is hiding behind a petal… was maybe too shy! =)
