Sure, I know what they all are. I'll start identifying them as I post. The bird you asked about is the Clark's Nutcracker. It's a larger bird, almost the size of a crow, I'd say. The bill is formidable, for sure. :)

Thanks, Woody. I stopped short of saying it reminded me of a crow except it was grey! Although I don't think I've ever seen any type of Nutcracker, I would have thought they'd be much smaller. I appreciate the info!

We rarely see Cattle Egrets in Colorado, so it was fun to see this one (left) hanging out with a group of Snowy Egrets yesterday.

The only Great White Egrets I've seen have black legs. The ones on the right are unusual - at least to me!

The Snowy Egrets on the right are immature and so have both yellowish and black on their legs. Once mature, they will have fully black legs and yellow feet.

I have been lucky enough to photograph a few Great White Egrets this year. They are not common around here. I'm still working on processing those shots.

Due to a very late and huge snow storm in Colorado this year, most Osprey nests failed. I was really happy to see this juvenile who made it through the cold. I love the orange eyes of the youngsters.

They are all great, but if I had to pick one, it would be the very first one you posted. Its highlights are lowered enough to see more detail in the feathers than in the others. But I like all of them! Nicely captured, Woody. :)

I agree with Cindy, although I have to admit I waffle back and forth between it an the third picture of that first series. They both really grab me, although more for the pose than for any technical merits they may have over the others. Sometimes the pose is everything....

(Well done on all of them, btw. Terrific captures, all!)
