My 55 f/3.5 P.C Micro (once I AI'd it) is constantly on my D7100, often mounted on a modified TC-16A (for AF, and also for more working distance during closeups) with or without a PK-13 (for higher magnification). It has been a revelation that came out of left field.

! Well the 300mm by itself is superb and with the 14b on it it's even better ! Of course i basically use it on a tripod but I have hand held it. Gotta love the D7100! Tight angle of view and very sharp results .I do prefer to use it at f/5.6. Funny I was going to use it this weekend on my F4s. Enjoy !

and a picture is worth a 1,000 words---This is it and the subject is about 40 ft away and on the roof. No post process, straight from the camera. Not exactly for action shots and a narrow but good enough D.O.F.

Right now I have the Tamron sp 70-300 on it. I still don't know if I like that lens or not.

I still think I want that 105mm ais macro Nikkor...

Hiya !,I like this lens. Some say it is soft but I find it to be pretty sharp.It will soften blemishes, zits , etc., and is plenty fast. As much as I like it on digital , I really like it with film. A lens I'm glad I own.
