I had a bit of fun at the zoo today and am really starting to enjoy and appreciate "The Beast"

And this is my favourite for the day.
Although I clearly missed the shot what makes it for me is the fact that he is heading away from me.

Turning off that sharpening sure made a huge difference Lawrence. I feel for the better too as the last shots looked much more natural. Great shots...well...except the pornographic one :D

I took this shot at the zoo as an afterthought but now that I see the colours I think I want to go back and get this fellow to pose properly. This time I won't cut his crown off.
That aside I like the composition.

I am ultra pleased with this selfie.
Taken in very bright daylight!
I was testing a method of getting a dark background in bright light with no backdrop.
One off camera flash used.

Post processing was a crop to get the eyes at the 1/3rd line and a tiny bit of sharpening. No adjustments were made to exposure!
Whoo hoo - I am chuffed.

Small amount of light on the underexposed side might have added a little more definition but it is still a fine portrait to hang in the post office. That's why i don't take candids of myself. Too much chance of being recognized by the authorities.

Ron I thought the dark side would be exposed as that was the side facing the sun.
The result makes me even happier to know that I can block out natural light using this method.
