Hang tough, buddy... I've quit twice, myself. The first few days are the toughest.

And you're not "quitting"; you've quit. Period.

It's all in the head.

I'll keep hanging tough my friend! Your right, I've quit!

Thanks buddy! :D

Hey Bill, good morning! How are you doing?

I was thinking about those cigs in the house. If they're still there, you really need to get rid of them now. Throw them away - don't burn them! lol!

Still rooting for you, I bet it's pretty tough for you.

Well I got lucky! The owner of the cigarette store is a friend and broke his own rules giving me a refund on the 4 cartons of cigarettes I had left! It was not a full refund, due to not having much money on hand. But I am quite satisfied, and now I can get more food and gas. :)

Oh, by the way! I'm still smoke-free and only have 7 hours and I will have completed the dreaded day 3! :D I'm so proud of my self, it makes me want to kick back with a Pepsi and a cigarette! Lol ;) Just kidding! Lol :p

That really sounds great Bill. It is something you have to really want to do, but since you have made it this far, it just gets easier and easier. (find something else to do and think about. :) )

I smoked heavy for 30+ years (started at 14), but quit about 30 years ago now.

I'm telling you all because doing it in secret gives me a chance to go back to smoking without embarrassment. I'm hoping my fear of being embarrassed will help me hold true to my effort. It won't stop me from smoking, but it is an extra reason to try as hard as I can.

I've now been without smoking for 1 hour and 30 minutes. Still very hard going!

You will probably need some type of patch to help with your cravings.

I've just got a few lone packs of cigarettes left, and I'm going to give them to the neighbor when I see him! :) Then there shouldn't be a cigarette in the house! :D

It's very handy when I don't want to pack my D300! It takes good photos and is fun to use. It wouldn't replace my DSLR needs, but it's been handy and a lot of fun so far! :D

Whoohoo!

On a separate note, how useful do you find your Nikon 1?

Well my friends, it's official! I just completed my third smoke-free day! From what I understand the hardest days are now behind me, as long as I don't get lazy and weaken! The one thing I do know, is there will never be such a thing as a safe cigarette for me. One cigarette could waste all my hard work, and the nicotine monster would be on my back once again!
So no indulging what so ever, or I'm back to square one!

Anything else I should watch out for my friends? I absolutely don't want to go through this more than once! Lol :D

Right! One cigarette is all it takes. You'll tell yourself that you'll just have one after dinner. This works for a few days.
Then it's going to be one after dinner and one after lunch. You'll tell yourself that you're only going to smoke 2 cigarettes a day. What could it hurt?

Then it's going to be 3 and 4 a day. before you know it you'll be back to smoking 2 packs a day.
No my friend. If you're going to smoke just one, you might as well buy a whole carton, because before you know it you will anyway.

If you had asked me on Friday afternoon, I had no overnight business trips planned, then this one snuck up.

Brought the camera, but didn't get out in daylight at all for any pics. Pre-dawn flight back to Texas in the morning. That's twice I've been here with no images to show for it!
