210/365....wish me luck as you wave me goodbye
A juvenile humpback whale heading south after the long migration north for breeding. They stop to take a breather off the coast here (Gold Coast, Qld) both on the way north and then on the way back south. We went on a whale watch tour. It was warm and sunny after a frosty start, the sea was dead calm, and we hoped to see more than the 3 whales we did see. Only this young one was playing, and not a great deal, although he did wave to us a few times

217/365.......late winter sun under stormy skies
I was stuck for ideas today so we drove on out to see what we could find. I threw the brolly in coz the sky was so ominous. Stopped at a local farm where there are always lots of waterbirds, hoping to catch a whistling duck, but they kept their distance.
