The Institute of Marine Science

The Institute of Marine Science, Burapha University was originally from the Zoological Museum and Marine Aquarium of the former Srinakharinwirot University Bangsaen Campus (Burapha University at present). In 1980, the University proposed a cooperative project to the Japanese Government for a construction of new facility to replace the Zoological Museum and Marine Aquarium. The project was approved of 230 millions baht to construct the Marine Science Center.

Her Royal Highness Princess Mahachakri Sirindhon presided over the foundation stone laying ceremony for the construction of the center on March 23, 1982. His Majesty the King came to preside over the opening ceremony of the Marine Science Center on July 24, 1984. The Marine Science Center was later approved by the Cabinet as the Institute of Marine Science on May 23, 1985.

I know them for almost 12 years. Every day, never mind raining or hot, they're sitting on the corner and fixing clothes for a living. There son is so grateful to them. He is one of the most diligent kids I know so far here in Thailand. He is studying to become a lawyer and is doing so well. He knows how hard his parents work to pay his school fees.

Re: Walkaround Thailand

Situated on the edge of a plateau that dominates the plain of Cambodia, the Temple of Preah Vihear is dedicated to Shiva. The Temple is composed of a series of sanctuaries linked by a system of pavements and staircases over an 800 meter long axis and dates back to the first half of the 11th century AD. Nevertheless, its complex history can be traced to the 9th century, when the hermitage was founded. This site is particularly well preserved, mainly due to its remote location. The site is exceptional for the quality of its architecture, which is adapted to the natural environment and the religious function of the temple, as well as for the exceptional quality of its carved stone ornamentation.

Great shots. Years ago, when I was stationed in Korea, I visited similar ancient ruins. Korean architectural styling is different, but there are some slight similarities in style, throughout Asia. You're bringing back memories.
