But Bill, taking photos of the apt only takes a few seconds and could really save you a whole bunch of grief later. You don't have to have professional shots or well processed shots. Use your phone and save them to the phone. You will then have them for years to come.

I am thinking about shooting my D700 using just jpg, for quick clear unaltered shots. :)

I took my D700 to my apartment and spent a little while installing energy saving bulbs I took from home. It was rainy out and light was bad indoors, and like a dumbbell I forgot to bring a flash for the darker areas. So no photos today, and my D700 and my new Nikkor AF-S 50mm f1.4 lens on it was left there to try to get shots tomorrow, if I get time after going to town for a little food. So it might be Saturday morning by the time I get to it.
Today was a hard day, missing my beloved wife. Enough said about that I think.

Oh I did a great job of sneaking my D700 out of the house and over to the apartment!lol :D I put my D700 in my Tamrac expedition 5 backpack and put the pack into a trash bag, so it looked like clothes or blankets or something! If I were a betting man I would bet that nobody had a clue about my Nikon being brought over! Lol Even if they peek into the apartment somehow, all they would see is a white kitchen trash bag sitting on the carpet that looks as if it might have some clothes or something in it!lol :D

Now my bigger backpacks won't fit in the trash bags, so I will just bring them over later as was advised unseen if possible(which seems doable, as I never see anybody except once and he only saw my leaving on the road past his place I'm guessing. :)

Hopefully Saturday afternoon my friend Greg will be over to move most of the appliances and furniture(all of those if possible). He was my best man at our wedding 5 years ago, with his wife Robin was my wife's maid of honor. And they have been like family to me, practically from day one.:)

I have come to the decision that I need to try to get enough stuff moved to the apartment by Monday to be able to start living there while I continue to get stuff moved.
All the appliances and some of the most important furniture, along with my TV and then my phone after the conformation call from Time Warner cable installer.

So much to do, and I'll be depending a lot on Greg and his utility trailer. Fingers are crossed, and alternatives running through my mind just in case.

Well I spent last night awake, thinking often in circles and wishing there had been something at all that I could have done to save my beloved wife. So my night was long and unfruitful, but maybe I will want to sleep tonight.
I have to make the trip to the apartment today and unload a few things and take those photos. Then I have to buy a little food, Pepsi and a shower curtain at Wal-Mart.

Bless you my friends for reading my posts here. It means a lot to me to read your often helpful replies.:)

Bill, hardware store and lumber yard box stores have contractors trash bags that will hold the largest of backpacks.

First I gotta ask just how big are your backpacks that they won't fit in trash bags?!! :beguiled: Or are you just talking about the little bags that fit inside trashcans used in the house? Because some of my trash bags are so huge, I could fit all of my camera bags inside one and still have room. ;)

Please don't start second guessing the WHAT-IF's in reference to Anice because all it will do is succeed in beating yourself up. :( Sure, it is natural to have those thoughts, but even with the ultimate best in care, some forms of cancer can be very aggressive. You need your sleep so you don't run out of medicine before the end of the month. Keep moving forward one small step at a time, Bill. :encouragement:

I'm not sure I want to buy bags just for my backpacks. I have no other use for bags that big my friend, as they will be too heavy when mostly full.

They are the size of large hiking packs, 2' 1/2-3' tall. In other words, big for sure my friend! Lol :D
Each one is big enough to hold all of my lenses and at least 1 Nikon. :)

PS I made sure not to take any extra pain meds during the night Cindy my friend.:)

I will try not to look for blame in myself for my beloved's passing. Thank you Cindy.:)

Well hopefully tomorrow will be the biggest part of the move, getting most of the big heavy stuff moved in my apartment!:)
I may even be starting to live over there tomorrow, since my bed is so heavy I need help to move it even in pieces. So tomorrow would be my best bet to get it moved, since after that I'm not sure when I could get more help again for such heavy objects.:)

Well I am back on line! I hated doing without my cable and internet! Lol I am now living in my apartment, but I still have quite a bit of work to do moving in. I just really need to be careful not to over crowd the place with things, though that means leaving a lot of things I regret having to lose.

But all in all not a bad place to live, and I admit a smaller place should turn out a lot easier for me to take care of.:)

Thanks guys!:)
I admit I'm distracted by worries about truck tags and taxes, and passing the eye tests for my license without new glasses. Money may not be the root to all evil, but the lack of it has caused me a lot of worry in my life!

I just hope I do not have to lose more prized possessions to get through this delema. If I had thought about it, I should have saved my rifle for emergence sale to the pawn shop. But I just knew, that for right now at least, my depression made it prudent not to have it...

On a plus side, I am liking my new apartment despite the roosters near by and the tick I had issues with!lol ;)
Oh, for my phone buddies, pm me if you would like my new unblocked phone number! :D

I've just been catching up, Bill.
Prozac is the name of my game.
I didn't care for it at first, but after 4 or 5 weeks I am settling in nicely. :)

Next time you find yourself without internet, remember your library has you covered!
Mine also has a scanner I can use for free. That is where I do all of my printing, as well.

I somehow messed up while I was off line. The Baptist Church that builds ramps called again after I told him my wife passed and I no longer need the ramp, and this time it was about his church group wanting to give me a care package. Well I thought I had gotten his name and number in my tablet before deleting the message, and planned to call him back when I got my phone hooked up. But it dissappeared, and I couldn't find a way to contact him to accept his offer. :(

I am hoping he will look into seeing if I got his message, or try to locate me, since I'm not having much luck in finding him. I can't remember his name, but I know he is Baptist and I believe he has a local number(but I can't remember if it really was local).

My next step is to start calling Baptist churches to find which one does the ramps and then go from there, since he knows my name.

Well today I did a change of address at the Post Office and one at my credit union! I am going easy today, though the Manager's fix it guy came by and put a new 4 prong plug cord in my dryer to match the plug-in, and fixed the leaking water hook up to my washer. Then I bought and installed the dryer vent duct between the dryer and the wall, so now I can wash and dry laundry! :)
I did move a little bit in one trip today, but that is all for today.:)

I still have stuff to move, but the majority of it is already done. Other than a desk, there are just little things to still move. Putting it all away when it gets here is going to be the biggest job, and deciding which shelf or drawer goes what in the kitchen!lol ;)
