Well my dear friends, I have now had my apartment for a whole month. Tomorrow I have to go pay the rent and try to get use to doing that every month.lol :)

I have been pleased with my apartment so far and I expect to keep it as long as I can, unless something comes along to change that. The place seems to be the perfect size for me, and I think the most comfortable with the heat pump and low electricity bill. :)

Thank you all for your support during these difficult times I am going through! :D

Glad to hear you are coping Bill. Remember when the times get tough to just take it one day at a time.

The apartment looks cozy--definitely not what I pictured in my mind. Here I thought it would be more of an urban apartment with many floors and multiple units making for well over a dozen different families. This suits you very well. ;)

Yes, I grew up as more of a country boy, even though I lived in town! Lol :D

Then I lived more as a mountain man before moving to NC!:)

Your photo of your new home reminds me of an old fellow I knew who planted tomatoes and sweet peppers against the brick foundation of his home, in lieu of flowers and always had a bumper crop every year because the brick collecting heat from the sun made for a perfect growing environment.

I would like to take my D800e with me more, but I haven't figured out a good way to transport it without one issue or another. I prefer to just take my black rapid sport strap and the camera. But wearing it puts the camera between my legs just beneath the steering wheel, which might ruin me if I get into an accident. Lol
I can't just put it on a seat because a quick stop will see my precious Nikon hitting the floorboards. Taking a backpack is more bulky, and I would need to leave the backpack in the truck once I got my Nikon out of it at every stop. So my D800e stays protected while adding more time and effort taking it in an out. But leaving the backpack in the truck might attract and tempt some thief to bust out a window to steal the empty backpack, not knowing it is empty.
Now this last idea is the best I have so far, though the empty backpack left in the truck is still a worrisome issue. Maybe bring a blanket too to cover the backpack?

Do any of you my friends have a better idea? :)

Put it on the passenger seat with the strap hooked over the headrest. No worries when you have to stop short.

Awesome! Thank you Pete buddy! I think I will do that or a variation of that great idea!
That is a lot better than bringing all of that extra stuff!:D

Now that that is settled, I need to figure out how to carry the polarizer filter. I can't leave it on the lens, because it slides on and you tighten the clamp. What I mean is it could loosen and fall off onto the ground if I let it dangle on my black rapid strap on the lens.

Leave it in the truck unless I find a landscape shot I will need it for? Then carry the camera with the filter setup on the lens in my hands instead of on the strap?

I do think the 14-24mm lens will be the lens on my D800e most of the time. Well unless I expect some subject that needs a different lens that is. Lol :D

You could send me the camera, lens and filter for a few months, and I could figure it out for you.Oz

I do have the filter pouch, but only holds the filter not the holder. I'm sorta hoping to find something that will hold the filter and the holder put together. :)

Maybe something will come to mind eventually.:)

Just take the measurements of what you need then go from there. Should be pretty easy to get what you're looking for. How are you doing Bill?
