Woke up this morning to a houseful of sleeping visitors, so I decided to revisit some of the IR stuff I shot Friday that didn't work out as well, just to see what would happen if I didn't do pure channel swaps and what I could do using some of the Nik plugins as well.
Here's one where I used Viveza to desaturate the foreground statue and boost the structure elsewhere. I also altered the hue of the sky and saturation of the trees to get more color. I'm starting to see some of the hotspots in the lens that I'd heard of with IR photography. Some are correctable, some not so much.
With this photo I didn't do a pure channel swap, but instead added back some of the original colors to see what it did. Ran it through Color Efex Pro 4 and boosted the details (Detail Extractor filter) which I then masked in the water a bit. Then I selectively altered the hue of some aspects of the photo. I'm finding you can spend hours just tweeking if you let yourself. LOL
