Woke up this morning to an extremely light dusting of very crystalline snow on the deck.
Note to self: This snowflake photography thing isn't as easy as it looks.

To do it right I'm going to need some extension tubes (this is a rather extreme crop), more patience and a much better pair of gloves. LOL
Funny how things work out. I thought this was a good attempt, but I wasn't exactly thrilled with the shot so I didn't post it on Flickr. Then my wife asked where she could find it so she could show some friends, so I said, "What the heck?!", and put it up on Flickr. I wake up this morning to 100 or so emails about it being favorited, it's got over 1000 views and it somehow managed to get included in Flickr Explore without so much as a tag. I've since learned that being included in the Explore section has more to do with hit algorithms than great photography, but all the same it was pretty a cool way to end 2013 and start the New Year.
