Lovely images!
Very sharp and then this amazing soft blurred background. Mmmmh! ...
.......I like how the structure really shows, in several of these shots.
We settled on a good price, I've been looking for it for some time but they dont show up much in my area (yeah yeah, I know, mailman still exist lol), so I am definitely planning on it, as long as its in good condition.
"Bokehlicious!"
Which version?
I really don't like buying lenses through the mail unless I know I'm dealing with someone I can trust. I prefer the Used section at the local brick-n-mortar store or Craigslist. I'm a touchy-feely kinda guy.
He only wrote VR. So Im actually not sure. Any of them where I should pay attention on anything specific?
Yeah, somehow I like touching it too, before buying. But our used shop are really good - and really expensive.
VR would be the current G lens... it's the only 105 Micro Nikkor that has VR. Obviously, check the glass for dings and scratches. Minor wear on the barrel is not relevant to image quality, but dents can mean mis-aligned optics (it's been dropped).
Check the aperture for 'snappy-ness'. Sluggish aperture blades are not good. Focus should be smooth. Take your camera and try it out. If at all possible, take a laptop and download a few shots to pixel-peep.
I have the 105 micro-Nikkor AF lens that came out with the F4,way back when. Great lens. I think it's a little heavier than the later ones, but the photos are spot on.You can see a few in my macro thread.. If you thinking of buying it, just do it..
