My mother was born in Ripley, and I spent vacations at my grandparents in Parkersburg.

Imagine that.......My dad was born just outside of Ripley and my grandparents moved to Parkersburg just after WWII. My mom and dad moved to Cleveland in 1961 just before I was born.

Remnants of last week's walkabout........

The Arcade; masterful workmanship.

Every alley holds interest.

The Cleveland Public Library, where my Father would sit for hours studying out-of-town newspapers to find an edge on the coming week's college football games. He was a gambler.

Guitars like these are placed throughout the city. These are in Tower City.

Now THAT'S a bank. I wish they still built them like this.
Great shots, Ted.
One question. How did you take these with nobody at all in the bank?

The sad signs of a dying city. Even The Arcade, with all its majesty, is almost empty. As I said, it's a sad statement.

I don't get back to Cleveland enough but I've never been to the Arcade when it's not been pretty empty. Even on game days.

It is sad because there really is a lot to see and do in a relatively small area.

NOTE: If you scroll up and down with this photo on the screen, it appears to bend as it moves. Cool.

Chagrin Falls. About a half hour south-east of Cleveland. Nice little town with a lot of personality. They are celebrating their Blossum Festival this weekend.

I can't see any pictures on this thread Ted... Something's wrong with the Forum today. I wish I knew what.
