I'm not sure what is up with the hair hanging out of his tail but I sure appreciate his posing for me

Thanx Jake I moved up about 20ft of them but they were suspicious of me. With cats whose job is to keep down my rodent population I have to be careful where I hang feeders. I believe there are 2 pairs again this year and I think they'll nest in the scrawny evergreens of the front yard. We only get Rufous hummingbirds up here and we get many reminders to remove all feeders in mid-Aug so they head south. Southern BC gets more types of hummingbirds and some that stay all year but up here only the hardy little rufous comes up :) I do appreciate your sharing your set up and I think I did much better this year :)

Aurora was fickle and even though I waited and waited it never showed for me. i also tried for 3 days to get lighting right for an idea I had but glass and reflections Blah! I gave up I just don't have room without windows and found it soooo frustrating. So just my usually subjects
Barn and Green-violet Swallows have returned to entertain me but capturing them is not easy so will continue to practice my technique

It was a beautiful weekend and I'm loving the birds coming back but relearning how to shoot BIF is frustrating. Seems like I was just figuring out and getting the hang of shooting subjects in the snow. The bright sun, heavy shadows and more moving subjects has me changing techniques again. It is much nicer shooting without winter coat and freezing hands though :)

Horrible
NIK_0437.jpg
Someone threw their cigarette out into a ditch so 30 firefighters spent most of day in very dangerous conditions putting out a fire and someone lost their home based repair shop and had to vacate their home and property :( Many highly explosive welding materials etc in the burning shop and we felt the booms as tanks exploded 5+kms away :( All because some idiot threw their cigarette away

You fell like strangling people that are so careless eh? I'm sure you get the same as we do and have TV breaks showing the dangers of summer and fires, so there is no excuse :( Careless people cause deaths every year here thru bushfire :( Same there too I assume :(

Yes Vixen this time of year is the worst because the snow melt moisture is almost gone but people have been chucking cigarettes for the last 6+mnths with the snow covering the ground. 9 thrown cigarette fires in the last week is crazy!! I really do feel like strangling careless people sometimes :)

For Mother's Day my children painted upside down clay pots to look like mushrooms. This is the little one was painted by my 6yr old

4-H weigh in and vaccinations. Oh the fun of getting a 113lb (51kg) pig out of a horse trailer and into the weigh scale with crowds of excited kids with goats and sheep :)
