Are those Cane Toads still decimating the Freshies over there? I heard it was getting pretty bad on certain rivers.

They are learning not to eat them and are making are comeback, we have only one snake that can eat them and that is the Keel back but even they die sometimes.

You have to live here to really understand this.
There wouldnt be many people in rural Australia that wouldnt kill a Cane Toad given the chance. They are an introduced pest that has taken over much of Australia, and is killing the local wildlife.

I do a roundup with a shovel and a 20 litre bucket every couple of months at my place :apologetic:

By all means whack a couple for me. Introducing species is one of the stupidest things people have done to disrupt the natural order of nature.

We had people bringing in wild boar down by our family farm. They were trying to make money off charging people to hunt them. Stupid idiots. Never a thought to what they would do to neighboring farms.

In the south they brought in a vine called Kudzu to protect railways from eroding. It has taken over the south and will cover everything in it's path and is almost impossible to eradicate.

Wild pigs are another huge problem over here as well, introduced years ago for some idiotic reason. They are destroying crops and rainforest, and they are digging up the eggs of the sea turtles on the beaches, there are real worries that some species could end up extinct if something is not done to stop them.

A couple of photos from todays outing.

My attempts a light painting, yes I know there are bugs flying around but i think they add character lol.

Unfortunately I left the camera in Jpeg fine, so I will be revisiting this spot.
