Day 356 - December 22nd, 2013
Today was gray and rainy all day long.... stayed indoors. Last day of "One a Day lens".. Today was the 50mm 1.8...
My ham radio station (part of it) and the same stein as yesterday but with a 50mm instead of 300 mm
Chess set... then a crop of same but posterized in Lightroom using the tone curve...
Replica 1858 Remington .44 Black Powder Handgun (Civil War).. and a more modern weapon...
Jingles and Herbie relaxing on the sofa....
Snuggles... he is hard to capture as he does not sit still ...
Off to finish wrapping gifts and watch the NE Patriots football game...

Day 357 - December 23nd, 2013
The weather has not improved, grey and rainy all day, warmer so also somewhat foggy... Done with a single lens/focal length, I reached for my 18-105
First 2 are photos of tools in the maintenance area..
Shot into the toolroom... and Horseshoe in the fog and rain...
Old GMC in the residential area of Horseshoe... swampy area at the west end...
A couple of shots of the rain drops...

The Nikon 50mm 1.8 was one of the first lenses I every bought I used it a couple of times and then put it away. If I keep seeing more pictures like these I will have to get it out and give it a second try.

Day 358 - December 24th, 2013
The weather is still cold, but finally the sun appeared!! Made it feel warmer! As JDEG mentioned. looks like only 6 of us left for the full 365... Congrats to the others who worked hard to keep up with the challenge... I have enjoyed your efforts... 7 more days after today!
Today, well lets see....
One of the machines in our toolroom... construction of a mezzanine for storage, one of several...
Sonic Welder for installing inserts in plastic cases... and a Xmas gift from one of the girls..
Apartments across from Horseshoe Pond... and a cat crossing the roadway....
A couple different squirrels at the pond....
Its Xmas Eve, wishing everyone the best and a Merry Christmas tomorrow...

Day 359 - December 25th, 2013
Christmas Day~! Merry Christmas to all... I never ventured out... skyped with the youngest... calls to/from the other 3 kids for Holiday wishes. Wife and my Christmas... breakfast at home (eggs) and a Roast Chicken dinner... Wishing all a great day....

Day 360 - December 26th, 2013
Snowed again off and on today... no real sun, another grey day!! Note: Day 360!!! 5 more days!!
I set up the 7100 on the new Vanguard... aligned with the bird feed outside the window...
2nd shot is the screen from my tablet which is hooked up via the WU-1A. I can see the bird feed and remotely snap a shot
from my recliner should a bird or squirrel appear. Pretty slick but alas no shots today with the weather..
Maybe tomorrow~ ??

Day 361 - December 27th, 2013
No snow today (just the remnants from last night....but not much sun either... sunny early this morning and then overcast rolled in....
1st pair is snow remnants out back.....
This was out the side of the house with the early morning sun breaking through the trees..
And my littl little personal weather station....
This was the setup for the LensCal this morning....
several times passing the door, spotted birds on the seed pile... when I finished,
set up the wireless to remotely watch and maybe make a couple captures...
Never saw them again!!!

I was up early so took off before the sun to get a few Xmas light pictures...
These are all in the little town center.... Gazebo in the middle, Santa up by the road...
The wooden soldiers at at the opposite end from Santa... and when I got home, changed lens and shot the moon..

Day 362 - December 28th, 2013........... Part 2!
If you go back to the 27th, I had posted a pic(s) on my setup to photo birds at the feeder through a window - using the the WU-1A wireless and a tablet monitor and trigger in the other room..... I had no luck that day ... but today was another story!
The squirrel was funny, he would hop up and grab a peanut, hop down... carry it off into the words
and then back again... He was quick and did not stay on the table long. One time, one peanut left.. I was watching the screen, reached up and pulled my hand held ham radio down and looked back... the peanut was gone and never saw the little thief... just seconds!!

Yes!! This guy knew he was close to the house... and I have 3 dogs.. so he would grab a peanut and leave!! I probably missed him more than once if I was not watching the tablet screen.. The birds would hang around a bit at least....
