Ted, thank you so much for the comments!! That is something I was atrocious at a few months ago... Its been a lot of practice (and throwing away a lot) and seeing what others do here at Nikonites and also reading and learning from the critiques of everyones stuff.. The more I do, it seems the more I see...

I have felt that I have made progress (and my wife tells me) but when people like you indicate you can see I have progressed, it means a lot. I have the forum and all the great users to thank for that.. Still a lot to learn... but learn I shall! :)

Amazing pictures pat. Like the others have said, your 'photographers eye' is steadily getting sharper :)

On another note I think your machinery close ups, smoke shots and water droplet pictures will greatly benefit from a macro lens...

Thanks for both the comments and the suggestions... A macro is likely in my future down the road.. :)

Day 59 - Feb 28, 2013

Started the day with a couple industrial shots at work...

Inside an open molding press showing installed Mold.

No, it is NOT a Gatling Gun! It is a smaller press disassembled for
repair. You are seeing the barrel and the screw has been removed.

At lunch, caught some ducks at Horseshoe Pond.

Day 60 - March 1st, 2013

Spotted the moon in my driveway on the way to work... pulled over party way in and tried to get a capture..
I think it came out decent... :)

DSC_4538.jpg

Then, on the way home, I took a slight detour down Main Street Nashua.
I had see this one morning (in the dark) so I went back to capture the
mural on the side of a building.

Hope everyone has a great day and a great weekend.

Pat, I'm curious if you used a wide angle lens if the moon was in your driveway, that's pretty close.

Day 61 - March 2nd, 2013...

1st is early morning sun castings shadows across the snow... (right out my window)

DSC_4558.jpg

I was playing around with some close up filters, I do not have a macro lens.

DSC_4578.jpg DSC_4580.jpg

How small were the bushing and screw?? They both fit on a dime.
The bushing is overmolded into some of trhe parts we make so customers
can screw something into the threads (M4 Metric)

DSC_4581.jpg

I have had some fun playing with the filters, come spring maybe I can find some insects to try..
