Here's a bee acting like a hummingbird. Slightly front focused. I think I overcalibrated my back focus.

This is my son, with the turtles. I hastily took the picture before closing down the aperture to get everything in focus because my son was NOT making a goofy face and I knew I only had milliseconds before he'd start making them! (I was correct.)

Thus ends our mini-vacation. But never fear! We're doing it again next weekend! 4 more glorious days at "The Lake!"

I don't know what's in that PDF you posted is all about, as their server is having issues with that portion of the site right now. However, since it's from the FDA I'll assume it's about how awful turtles are for your health. That's because there's no large turtle farm corporation lining their pockets with cash. Because if they were, turtles would be the best thing in the world for you!

Don't worry, the turtles are marked and released. Except that one many years ago before I was even born... He would've never made it if Grandpa didn't keep it.

They've been catching turtles at the lake ever since Grandpa and Paul Bunyan made the lake by digging a big hole out, by hand!

Oh, and I found out the story of that ship. It's a model of the ship Grandpa and Ferdinand Magellan built, by hand!

Ok, their server came back up. Turtles are bad for you too! I just knew it!!
They've prevented a 100,000 cases of diarrhea! They are awesome, the FDA, huh?

Next thing you know, they'll be telling me the lake has been invaded by Zebra Mussels!



...oh wait, it has been.

The mussels are nasty! They just appeared out of nowhere about 7 years ago. They were slicing our feet to shreds. We all had to get water shoes.

I don't know what they're doing, but it is getting better now.
