Though many people were confusing me for the official event photographer, there's no doubt in my mind who it actually was. People were actually asking me to take photos of their "Thing" at the festival, whether it was a booth, or just a banner for something. Was kinda strange I could go anywhere, backstage, in the kitchen, etc... and no one said a word to me.

Wolfe Hall houses state-of-the-art research laboratories for the Department of Biological Sciences, Chemistry and the College of Pharmacy. The facility cost $33 million dollars and was dedicated in 1998.

...and if you had any doubt where to go once you were on campus, these were everywhere! (This was heavily post-processed so you could see it better, the rain was slowly washing this away)

Oh... I forgot this one.

This seems to be the new trend in photography, as I saw this way more times than I think I should have seen it.

Day 104

Spent the vast majority of today working on vehicles. So here's a shot of my ceiling fan remote. Exciting, I know...

Day 105

Sometimes I think I have way too many hobbies. Spent all my time after work, working on the wine.

Here's the Green Apple Reisling being racked to secondary fermentation.

...and this is the yeast slurry I saved from the Green Apple Reisling. This will get pitched into the Skeeter Pee tomorrow, which is now sitting in the Primary Fermenting bucket, but it has to sit for 24 hours before pitching the yeast. Yummy looking, eh?

Tomorrow I also have to degas, back-sweeten, stabilize, and add finning to the White Zin too! Busy busy busy!

Day 106

Today in the winery (AKA: The Pantry)

Front to back, six gallon carboys (30 bottles each!)
Green Apple Reisling (Secondary Ferment)
White Zinfandel (Fining)
Moscato (Bulk Aging)

...and in the Primary Fermenter (the bucket) is Skeeter Pee!
Just pitched the yeast into the pee a couple hours ago, and the fact that the water in the bubbler is not level is a good sign! Hopefully it'll start bubbling before I go to work tomorrow, then I won't worry about it all day.

Do you drink all the wine you make or sell it? You are sending each of us a sample bottle, right??

I actually don't drink a lot of wine. A lot of it is given away as gifts. My wife has a glass or two when she gets home from work... ER Nurse in da hood in Toledo, nights, weekends... She deserves it.

I'll drink a bottle or two (or three) on bottling day, as you typically wind up with a bottle that's not quite full enough to cork, and you definitely can't pour it out, as that's alcohol abuse!

I'd rather rob a bank then sell this stuff. The ATF, IRS, State, County, and Local officials really frown upon you selling it without the proper paperwork. (Read: They want their money!)

I'm sure I can send out a few bottles to interested parties.

I'm starting to gear up to make some beer too. I purchased three 5 gallon kegs the other day... Just need some Co2, a freezer, some gauges, more tubing, and three faucets, and I'll be in business. Decided I'm going to keg the beer, I don't want to deal with a ton of bottles... I don't drink a lot of beer either. Guess we need to start throwing more parties!

Day 108

Well... I am now in cahoots with the new winery just a mere mile or so down the road. I'm getting all their used bottles, for free! Best price ever!

Here's 166 more bottles I now need to de-label. If purchased new, it'd be 250 bucks. Lovin' it!

I'll be using 120 of these on the next bottling day...
