You have cool life birds. Mine seem so ordinary except for the Burrowing Owl that I have only seen one time.
I would love to get a photo of a burrowing owl. However, I am not really sure where to find them or what season is the best to look for them.

Roy showed me the owls in Menifee. They were in a large canal, but they have moved on from there. If I wanted to see them now, I would have to drive out to the Salton Sea. I think @Roy1961 found some burrowing owls in the San Jacinto preserve, but I don't know if they are still there.
I should probably do a thread of my life birds. I had included them in a thread a while back, but a dedicated thread might be the way to go.

They have a burrowing owl at a local raptor rescue center here. Whenever they bring him out of the carrier at demonstrations, it always elicits an "aawwwhh" from the crowd. They are small. And cute.

I saw Marilynne's thread and thought that was a great idea! I figure I can change out pictures if I find one I like better of a particular species. Working on this thread has also let me know something is going on with my computer because there are a lot of pictures, of some of my birds that are better but they, are nowhere to be found. And many of the tags have disappeared too. Oh well, something to work on once I have recovered from Christmas. We are expecting an ice storm tomorrow, hopefully not as bad as they are calling for. Our kids want to come out and go sledding but the roads maybe to icy. If they don't come I will have something to work on if I am not out taking pictures.

My only picture of a Screech Owl. My neighbor and I had just spent the day looking for one to photograph without any luck. The next morning she calls me and tells me this fellow is sitting on her deck. He stayed there for a full 8 hours while we walked around within 5 feet of him. He only had this pose the whole time. Then he flew off and we have not seen him since. We hear him and some of his friends but they all stay hidden very well.

Do you have the Merlin app Robin?

I ran two of your photos through Merlin and both times Cape May Warbler was at the top of the list
