You clearly show the power of the software, but it's not a look I prefer seeing. She looks too fake. Within the past couple of days, I saw an article on Facebook about how people's faces look like eggs since all the wrinkles are removed. Sorry, but it was the first thing that came to mind. ;)

Bill, did the "nurse" get to see the before and after? That is some amazing stuff right there!

As a newbie, I've been wanting to ask what everyone's opinion is on post processing? More to the point, where is the line drawn between capturing a remarkable image.........and "creating" a remarkable image? Anyway.........give my best to you wife!

The nurse got the before version a while back, and then recently I sent her the glamour shot version. But the glamour shot is just that, a glamour shot.:) I also sent her an in-between version too.:)

My poor love is dealing with some of the side effects of Chemotherapy. It is the blistered mouth that is what she is being driven crazy with right now. But the nurses are giving her a special mouth wash that is helping, and stated the blisters are a common side effect.

Depending on road conditions, she will be going to a nursing home for a few days, either today or tomorrow. I've been going nuts not being able to see her while the roads are bad, but I promised my love I wouldn't going anywhere until the roads are safe enough for her to be moved to the nursing home..............:(

Sorry to hear about the blisters and any other side affects she may endure. Stay safe and please don't venture out until the roads are clear. How much snow did you get? We had at least 20" here.

We got just a small amount really. It is the ice that is the real issue. But it is melting off pretty good now and other than black ice tomorrow, things are looking much improved.:)

But the nursing home is more than and it will be up to how good their roads are before I will know when my wife will be going there. She hasn't seen the improvement I managed on her portrait yet and I am very eager for her to see it.:)

All my portrait kit and app is for my beloved, as I love taking her picture more than nearly anything else except maybe spiders which might be a close second! Lol

PS. All the nurse photos are given to them for free even at D800E size capabilities for prints as a gift, as my wife an I are very close to these wonderful ladies. So I do hope they like them, and I did receive some replies that they do from the more responsive of them!lol :)

Thank you Cindy and I promise to be safe my friend.:)

Well her move to the nursing home from the hospital will be tomorrow. I'm thankful since we get a little money tomorrow which will allow me to fill our gas tank. But most of all I am dying to go see my beloved, and tomorrow I will get to!:)

Thank you my friends for your thoughts and or prayers, as I believe they are helping.:)

I've been thinking about your question "CHRIS" buddy. My first choice is to take the best photo I can, and do as little as needed in post processing. But there maybe times where more post processing is needed than you prefer, and then you need to decide if you can retake that photo to get a better shot to start out with. If you can't take that shot over for some reason, then you need t decide rather to just discard the shot entirely or do your best in post processing to make it what you saw in your mind what it should be.
You have just seen the most process photo I have ever done, as glamour shots are often done more to either before or after to do such a dramatic change from normal. Things often done before glamour shots is clothes and very professional makeup to hide imperfections and emphasize her beauty. Like airbrushing is commonly done for famous people to achieve this. But the portrait professional post processing app I bought allows for a way to do even glamour shots without the high dollar photo prepping that use to be required to manage it.

So the line your looking for not crossing is one you will have to put up for works for you my friend. Some photographers shoot strickly so that only the camera settings effects how their photos turn out, and I've seen others who pull great photos out of nearly black photo files with post processing.

So I hope this helps you answer your own question, though I know this wasn't the easy black and white answer you were hoping for. Lol :)

As others have stated Bill, if the roads are bad, then the roads are bad........safety first, and a wise decision on your part. It may be driving you crazy, but your wife can't be worrying about your travels. Mother Nature didn't get to be Mother Nature by being a push over LOL! As far as your wife's blisters are concerned, maybe a kiss will make them feel better:)
Thanks for your response about post processing. Makes sense to me. I guess the line is different for everyone.....what each individual thinks is too much or not enough. "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" comes to mind. Keep smiling.........it will catch on!!

Bill, my mum enjoyed real pineapple juice, frozen in ice cubes, apparently according to the cancer nurses, there were enzymes in the pineapple juice that helped, also the frozen part of it made for a nice change (even in winter) it seemed to sooth her mouth...

I sincerely hope you get to see your wife very soon!

Dont forget to look after yourself

Well things changed fast today as far as where my beloved was going to stay. To make a long complicated story short, I brought her home since the biggest reason for going to a nursing home was not longer needed. But she still needed therapy, and I have to try to see she gets it here at home now. But she seems happy and relieved to be home, and I will do my best to care for my love.:)

Sounds like good news so I'm hopeful! Still sending positive thoughts and prayers your way.
