The wet snow that stuck to all our trees has continued to linger on the trees so I went out to shoot this beautiful desert rarity.

Day 356, 2013 - Christmas Photos

Shooting photos of a Christmas impromptu Santa hand-out when this picture got photo-bombed.

This shot, along with all the others, was shot with a flash bounced off the ceiling. What do you do about the shiny skin reflections/glasses? And do you do anything about the reddish skin which is from warmth and a little festive drinking? Any input would be appreciated.

With glasses have them tilt their chin down just a touch. If they look straight on you get the reflections. But a slight angle will get rid of them.

We're in the deep of winter and it's not often a chance to shoot a flower will come up. This one was in my neighbors front room and I had to shoot it.

Great shot.

I have been reading that if you place a black card at the base of the speedlight it stops some of the forward light, as even though you are bouncing the flash off the ceiling you still get a certain amount of forward flash aswell. May help with the glare on the glasses.

Day 362, 2013 - Ice Vulture

Been struggling the last few days trying to find something to shoot. However, today I actually had the time to put together a shot I'm proud of.

Crawling around the snow banks with my Tamron 90mm Macro and I found this Ice Vulture perched there waiting for me to shoot it.
