Day 233, 2013 - Tree Flowers

This flowering tree is spectacular. I wish it wasn't jammed in between things so that I could take a shot of the whole of the tree. Instead, I will just focus in on a small part.

Ah, the Mimosa tree. a very Invasive Plant Species. My neighbor had a big one in his yard and I am constantly having to cut the trees down that pop up in my yard all the time. But yes they are pretty when they stay where they are supposed to.

Day 235, 2013 - Eggs?

Salt water aquariums are such a mystery. From time-to-time there are always new critters and things that just show up. In the years we've had the aquarium we have never seen this before.

Trying a little artsy creative. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

1. Which do you prefer, sharp or soft?
2. Why do you like that one?
3. Or... just scrap it! You're so far off the mark there is no saving you.

Personally, I like the softened one. My daughter prefers the sharper one.

Thank you for any thoughts.

Sharp. The one thing that might be interesting to see is a little grain in the sharp one.

I like the sharp as well. It just seems to offer up more detail, and I'm a sucker for detail. The soft just seems... out of focus, but not on purpose, at least to me.

Stupid daughter! I will now walk downstairs and punch her in the leg while she sleeps because she was right. She will then wake and say, "I was right wasn't I?!"

The soft just seems... out of focus, but not on purpose, at least to me.

She said that too. So once she is awake from me punching her in the leg I will punch her in the other leg because that is exactly what she said too.

Thanks everyone for the input. To my daughters credit, she has a much better artistic eye for artsy things like my attempt at this photo. Now I have to teach her that being right is painful. :)

This is the daughter :) Thank you to all who said the sharper one was the better choice of the two. When that many people chose sharp over the soft it makes it pretty hard for him to argue, haha!

Day 237, 2013 - Bicycle

Out after dusk, shooting into the shade, and at 240mm across the park. Pushed the ISO to 2000 f/4.5 1/500. Pretty happy with coming from my 55-300mm.

You are so right. Thank you for catching my mistake. Taking the total tally places my father at #79.

Woah woah woah! That is including our fish, not sixty some cats and dogs.

Day 238, 2013 - Cell phone pictures, yuck!

The most incredible sunset with this ghostly wispies hanging down absolutely glowing gold from the setting sun. These spectacular clouds went from the horizon up over and behind me. Incredible sunset to shoot with the 11mm lens. However, all I had was my cell phone camera and this is what I got. I just don't get cell phone/ipad photography - the results are so painful.

Day 239, 2013 - The sunset that just didn't happen.

Last nights sunset was incredible and I missed it. With the same weather tonight I set up to capture it... but it wasn't meant to be. Don't like the photo at all. I've had a rough two days. If things truly do come in three's then I should have one more bad day before I get back to proper photography images. (crossed fingers)
