Continued... Day 160

A really cool tree stump. What makes it really interesting is the fact it's there. The salt content is so high nothing can live in it. Yet clearly there was a time that this tree grew to some pretty good size. And the boat dock on the island.

Day 161, 2013 - Dandelion

Ok, it looks like a dandelion. However, this puffball is larger than a mans fist which makes it great for photographing.

Day 163, 2013 - Emergency Broadcast... BEEEEEEP

The emergency broadcast alarm went off for high winds and lightning. What I heard was potentially great clouds. With the exception of this twisted pattern and color shift in the clouds the storm warning was a bust. However, I LOVE this cloud shot.

Seems like there is a different universe up there!

I'm not a weatherman but I suspect those crazy clouds happened because of the storm winds blowing up through the valley floor colliding with crossing winds from the mountains on both sides. The colors came from a combination of a setting sun and smoke from a distant wildfire. It looked so crazy twisting and boiling like that.

We've had alot of storms blowing around lately and the clouds sure are interesting especially in the evening when you get the pinks mixed in there. Wildfires really make for interesting colours. We are having a HUGE booming thunderstorm right now but the sun is still streaming through the dark dark clouds. Storms sure are interesting to watch and I like how you were able to capture those great shapes and colours :encouragement: Oh your headless one legged bird made me smile BTW Anyone can capture a 2 legged bird staring at you but a 1 legged headless bird that is rare :)

Day 164, 2013 - Dirty Monkey

So I'm at the hospital for the doc to look at my ripped calf muscle when I stroll past the gift shop. I catch this monkey out of the corner of my eye. Not because it's a cute little monkey, but because this monkey is a little X rated sitting there in the window with a grin on his face.

Funny. So how is the ripped calf muscle? I am just getting over torn rotator cuff surgery. Hope yours get better soon.

No tendon damage. Muscle is ripped from bottom to top. Doc gave me some anti-inflammatory, no use of the leg, keep it elevated, and the doc thinks I should be able to ease back into training in two weeks. Being off my bike is killing me. Snuck a half attempt at a ride around the block. Hurt really bad so i decided I wouldn't do that again, but to make matters worse (Darth Vader music) the wife busted me and amputated my head from my shoulders.

I know the feeling about no bike riding. Doctor said no riding for 3 - 4 weeks after I busted my elbow. Waited one week and was back on. The leg has got to be a lot worse.
