January 31 --- Day 31

I got a new lens today . . . vintage Nikkor zoom 43-86mm, f/3.5, MF for $35. The only way to describe it is : cute and adorable lol
I love the solid feel of vintage Nikon. This lens is compact, easy to focus and zoom, and keeps the 3.5 while zooming.

Used this lens with the D200 . . . handheld at iso 800, 43mm focal length, f/3.5 at 1/15
Very little processing in lightroom, and no noise.

February 3 --- Day 34

2.8 just wasn't fast enough for this squirly little guy and iso was maxed. . . I didn't want to flash him and stress him. Will have to do.

Looks like a new addition to me. Helene? you might have to get that little guy comfortable and secure in your lap, and then release the flash a few times to aclimate him to it.

Guilty, as charged. Jojo was such a strong presence among the little munchkins, the house just seemed a little empty without him. I came across this little guy quite accidentally . . . was not looking for another puppy . . . especially a mini-Schnauzer. Everybody in my dog family has a best buddy, except Banjo. Maxi (my mom's Schnauzer) was Banjo's pal and he died last year, . This little one seems to be quite taken with Banjo.

So, all the dogs have met him . . . he is so tiny . . . food dish is a jar lid . . . he kind of fell into the regular dog dish . . . only 6 weeks old.

Good idea about the flash, Mike . . . I just didn't want to add more stress to him on his first day . . . even though he seems to have adjusted quite quickly.

Now to go clean up the half-eaten mouse in the sunroom, thanks to Peaches. I may have to throw up.
