GORGEOUS shot of the Art Gallery Helene. So much atmosphere coming out of your rendition of the space. Just great.

I like this shot but have little reservation with the color cast of the snow and mountains that distracts me. Maybe B & W ??

I wasn't quite completely happy with it either. It really was an odd combination of colors tonight. The brown grass, the orange sky.

I'll try in BW . . . but gotta admit that this doesn't suit me either. May be I'll look at it with fresh eyes tomorrow.

Maybe just desature it half way to give it an old picture washed out color look? But I don't know, I seem to get these wild color casts with Photomatix once in a while and have to work extra to de-saturate selective colors.

Your shots are always amazing and your PP skills amazing too. Play with this one some more, I bet you can make the Helene magic happen like always.

Thanks for the feedback and encouragement! I did redo the hdr and think I got a better result. But something else about the photo just did not sit right ---so I made it a class project. It was a great one to pick apart in terms of composition. I let my students analyze it and help me hone in on what bugged me . . .there was just too much in there . . . too much foreground, fenceline was going straight down the middle, and the snow in front added nothing. So, after cropping and straightening, I'm happier with this one.

Thank you, Rick and Marcel, and I agree that BW and HDR is sometimes tough to get to work.

March 12 --- Day 72

Daffodil . . . don't have any growing in my yard, so have to resort to buying them.

Helene...even though I like the psyanky egg shot, I find that it's not totally in focus. My eyes wander to all the bright shiny spots on the eggs. I can't seem to find the focal point. Don't get me wrong...the overall shot is lovely...it's just that I can't see the focus shot. Know what I mean? Don't take this as criticism.....it's just how I view it.
