"Silver Dollar Steakhouse" in Tinnie, NM

_DSC0095And7more_tonemapped-2.jpg

Decided to try out this old manual focus 19mm lens I had for one of my film cameras.
f stop had to be set manually (f/8) 6 auto bracketed shots, iso 640, Nikon D2x, Photomatix Pro. Lens did pretty well in a pinch (. . . haven't saved enough $ for the nikon 16-24 yet . . .sigh)

Absolutely stunning shot, Helene. The soft lighting effect it gives off, the hues.......wow! I'd say that lens is a keeper! :)

Rick, thanks for the info. It's the laptop (which has that stupid MacAfee software on it! it's always doing stuff in the background and taxing my cpu!!)) My hard drive is almost full . . . I think I have space for 10 gb! . . . remember when that was a lot??!) So, I think part of the problem is that I'm doing so many tasks at one time with very little "room". I've got a new 1 TB external drive coming in today, so I'll move all my pics to that and see if that helps. Will keep you posted and I sure appreciate the help!

OK, first things first. Get rid of that "stupid MacAfee software! It's horrible! One of the worst on the market. And DO NOT install Norton anything on your computer! EVER!! Do yourself a favour and get Kaspersky or F-Secure software. Install and forget.
Adding more RAM will increase your computer speed, not a bigger hard drive. It's the cheapest and often the best way to improve performance in a computer.

Thanks, Jack! Obviously, I HAVE to take some time to do computer clean-up and maintenance. Have moved some of my pic folders to an external drive and freed up some room. Will get rid of McAfee . . . I've been threatening to do that and just hadn't gotten to it. So far, everything you've recommended has helped. I appreciate it! :D

"Elusive Springtime"

Temp is back down in the 30's, wind is gusting 50-60 mph, and it's snowing HORIZONTALLY! Definitely an indoor day!

I have about 7 months of indoor days! LOL I hibernate most of the winter, watching hockey, moding on here, reading up on Nikons, testing new settings on the camera, napping (very important), eating.............etc etc etc. I just wasn't designed for winter! I live for the summer! :)
Helene........gorgeous photo there, by the way. :)

Helene, JoeLewis and fotojack, you guys make me feel so bad.

Today it was 78 degrees and rainy. I spent most of the day just crying my heart out for y'all.

If you believe THAT, I have this bridge in New York you might be interested in. Selling price is real cheap.

Let me know if any of y'all are interested.

Pete
