Thanks, Bill! I really got to know my tripod on this one . . . Legs go all the way out and the center column tilts so that the camera was about 3 inches off the ground.

If you think about it, it is a doorway...

OMG, this took my breath away when I read it. Didn't make the connection because I was so busy with the mechanics of photography. Thank you for your perception, PhotoAv8r.

Best Regards

Thanks, Jen. I used one of the soft filters (Color Efex Pro by Nik software) in post processing. Great plug-ins with this software and great effects. You can be as dramatic (or as subtle) as you want.

Best Regards

Helene, I really like this shot. It has a lot of "feel" to it and creates a certain back in time feeling.
Lovely shot.

Jen and Jack, thank you for your comments. I don't do water well (since we have so little opportunity here) so I have to really work at it.

"Sunny Smile"

Thought it was time to practice portrait mixed lighting. Used the d200 flash in commander mode and an SB-900 as remote TTL (Creative Lighting System). Honl grid on flash. PP with Nik filters in CS5.

For an otherwise nice shot, in my humble opinion, I find there's too much light in the middle of her hair, none at the top of her head, and none at the bottom of her hair. Deep shadow on the front of her, too. Just the way I see it, Helene.
