I wish I could send you the rain we're supposed to get this weekend, It's supposed to rain on my birthday :(

Ah Jen, maybe you'll get flowers with that lens and you can play with your gift. ;-)

Very nice capture of your Princess. Is your 85mm a prime lens or a macro? I don't have a macro lens and at f/1.8 on my prime lenses, the shallow DOF prevents me from getting all the facial features in focus like your Princess here.

Thank you all for the comments! She knows she's a cutie and plays it to the hilt LOL I just adore her!

Chris, my 85 is a prime. You have to make sure you focus on the eyes with that lens . . . I always like how the sharpness falls away gradually from the point of focus.

"Tired Little Feet"

I was doing some charity photography work of the inside of a domestic violence shelter today. This little boy was sound asleep in the "main room" . . . his head was covered and his little feet were sticking out. His mom said it was ok to photograph his feet, then apologized for them being so dirty . . . as if that mattered for what these women have gone through.

Helene this shot is so powerful. The tired feet is something that you will never forget in your mind. I feel for those woman that have gone through what they have gone through and I give you major Kudos for going through what you did yesterday. Well done and great journalism with this picture.

I just love the feet picture Helene. The color scheme of the quilt, jeans are just about out of this world. This is a very powerful picture and it's so so easy to look at. Great shot!

Thank you all so very much for the nice comments. The director showed the mom and little boy the photo on the computer. The little boy immediately recognized his "toe toes" --mom was thrilled. It warmed my heart to know one of my photos brought some joy to someone's hard life.
