Well, since I have to!!! My apologies for the stammering and miscues - it's fairly simple, but I was more concerned with keeping the video small so it wouldn't take forever to upload.

THANKS! Now to face an interminable work day as I look forward to getting home and dabbling with this!

Alright, @BackdoorHippie, here's what I've done with your excellent tutelage! (only hitch I had was in figuring out I need to click "Add Open Files" when stacking, as it wouldn't let me proceed or choose auto-align, LOL) What do ya think???

Day 149 - shots of opportunity

On the way out the door this morning, I saw the sunlight shining through the shades on the wife's new curtains, so snapped a shot just because...

Then, tonight, while watering the flowerbed, I almost reached out and brushed away some old cobwebs with my hand... but I got this feeling, so I stopped to take a look. GLAD I DID! Found not one, but TWO of these fat ladies with nests/webs very near to where I was standing. I didn't take long to snap the pic, as they could disappear at any second. 1 pic, 2 dead spiders. Time to call an exterminator to spray the yard!!

Eww, How scary!!!! But great close up :)

Day 152 - Final post, and my fave shot of the day. Had to wait and get mom's permission to share online.

3 different edits, my fave of which changes from moment to moment. Yesterday, it was the middle one, today it's a toss-up between the B&W and the dreamier look...

Thoughts?

Very awesome shots, and a beautiful subject. I like all of the shots but the last one is the best to me.:)

That is the BEST!!!! That is a wonderful way to handle that cute subject.

Thanks! For me, it was a very tedious edit, but I was thrilled with the result, and I think it's my overall favorite. About to put all the edits on a DVD and give 'em to the mom to thank her for letting me take and share the pic!

Day 154 - Hello, old friend...

I remember, in my younger years and well before this age of miraculous technology, how I used to get LOST in books and all the magical realms they carried me into. I can remember digging through Reader's Digest, volume after volume, at Granny's house during the hottest part of every summer day, but the day I was hooked for life was when my Grandpa drove me to a book store over two hours away. It was in that store I picked up my first copy of "The Hobbit". THAT was the moment the magic grabbed me, and it never let go... From Middle Earth and Xanth to the Restaurant at the End of the Universe... and everywhere in between.

This is a pitiful tribute attempt to orcs and dragons, hobbits and wizards - from the darkest of dungeons to the most frivolous of magical realms, and to all the authors talented enough to allow young minds to wander freely through the amazing world of imagination. I hope I've captured some of that magic.

Books are just fantastic. Don't know how anyone can enjoy reading an eBook. There is no smelling the paper & the ink, no turning the page, no joy in looking for the bookmark made with love and given as a present......books mean far more than just being a book :D

By George, I think he's got it!!

Looking at it again (2 hours later) and really thinking about it, and this is a problem I had with the first one I did, what you might consider doing when you have heads overlapping heads is to modify the opacity in the layer mask of just the portion of the head that overlaps. In other words, in the 2nd frame, replace some of the white in the upper portion of the cap with a light gray. This will make that part of the player more transparent while retaining the look elsewhere. Or, make the entire player more opaque and then gray out everything other than the head to get more face details. As is the head in that frame is more distracting than anything. Every image is going to be different, obviously, but you've got the tool in your chest now. :)

Day 154 continued - for my kiddo...

My oldest, now out of the house, has a LOVE AFFAIR with books, so I gave her one special edit... Nothing fancy, just some text added:

Old Friend - ...for my daughter!

Day 155 - Playin' With Crayons

Yup, had some fun messin' tonight. Had one idea I wanted to shoot, then the rest was just playin' around.

First, the playin' around pics.

Then, the idea that I actually started with, and my fave of tonight's work. Have some friends that are having a baby soon, and thought about getting them a large framed print for the youngster's room... that is, if they like it.

BTW, it's there... if ya see it. DO ya see it?

A rainbow?? If so, turn the crayons around and put them in an arc (is that the correct word?).
