Day 93 - What is this bright yellow orb in the sky, and why is it melting everything???

Yes, this is what the world looks like when you come out to a NON-dreary Spring day after working inside for too long... (it's also what it looks like when you've bumped your camera out of aperture into manual without realizing it)

Figured I'd share the edit from my mistake today and make it the pic of the day. :)

I really like this. The red in the trees echoes the red of the hydrant and just makes the shot special :D

Day 95 - The Coco-pet

My son brought this home from Florida last summer, as his Grammaw and Grandpa told him a face would show up eventually... it was vaguely visible when we brought it home, now it's a bit easier to see.

Day95.jpg

Day 96 - Dew, but not from the mountain

Just a quick snap of the rain/dew that was gathered on top of the vehicle I *JUST* washed and waxed the night before. *sigh*

Day96.jpg

And... Day 97 - Embarrassment.

Day97.jpg

I already struggle to catch up on the forums at times, but will be even farther behind, and my evenings will be taken up with the "dreadmill", elliptical and free weights. I'm ashamed to say I'm only 10 lbs. short of the heaviest I have ever been, and even though it's not HORRIBLE at 6'4", it's not pretty either. Time to commit. Again.

Will have to see what I can do in 90 days, eh?

YOU CAN DO IT! I am facing my own weight demons too. I am 2 inches shy and 20 lbs lighter. So I am right there with you. Doc wants me at 170/180lbs. BIG SIGH.
I purchased a Total Gym a few weeks ago. I haven't figured out who is winning yet.....

Love the face. looks like it is sticking its tongue out!

You can do it. Get a bicycle. My husband dropped 45+ pounds over the last year and me a measly 20+ just by riding every day.

Good luck @Pretzel, kind of one of the reasons that I didn't state publicly why I needed to back off my 365. I am 5.8 and 250, the heaviest I have ever been and needed to get off my butt. So I got a fitbit which is a fancy pedometer that syncs to your phone and set a goal of 10k steps every day. I was doing what I thought was a bunch of exercise, but turned out to be very little when I actually started counting my steps. So I have been using this thing and realized that I hadnt been exercising enough to matter. I did things my way with no change, but I think accurately measuring with the pedometer will greatly help with the weight loss making me accountable for my goals.

Good luck

Keep at it Pretzel. It is difficult, but it is so worth it. I was 285 at the beginning of last year. With the right combination of eating and exercise, I was able to lose 70 lbs. It is possible, and you can do it. Getting out and shooting helps as it keeps you moving. The hardest part is motivating yourself to make those changes. Mind over matter my friend.

You can do it. I'm 6' dropped 50 pounds over the last 10 months. I have another 50 to go. Doc wants me at 200. I'm big boned so less then that doesn't work for me.

Sooooooooooo busy the last few days, so these have been quick snapshots on the run. Sorry. :(

Day 98 - Those aren't clouds. Running from work and noticed these odd low clouds... and they weren't clouds. The smell in the air made it easy to figure out... large grass fires NorthWest of town, and this was the smoke line. Shot VERY MUCH on the run, as in out the door, 15 seconds to snap the shot, driving like a madman after...

Day98.jpg

Day 99 - If 3's company...

I had ZERO chance to get home and pick up my camera today, so you get this iPhone pic snapped at a local pet store. There were actually 4 finches in the nest, and the one loony lass on top. Not a great picture, but a funny moment.

Day 100 - My favorite little wild blooms are back in the back yard! Fast snap after I got home (before I had to change and run right back out), aggressive edit at the end of the night, still a lovely flower. *sigh* Hope things return to normal soon...

Day 101 - Belly Crawlin'

Yup, you guessed it, redneck in a sleeveless tee, belly crawlin' through the yard. Here's the fruit of my adventure...

Amazing what beauty you can find when you put your face down low and look for it. :)

...and just for reference, here's my thumb in a pic to show the scale of today's treasures.

Day 102 - Tulips from the inside

Nothing fancy, just a look at the inside of a few different tulip blooms. Once again, amazing detail and variety that many will never see.

How much beauty do we often overlook every day? How much wonder do we miss? The endless variety of creation amazes me.

Day 103 - Riverparks

The local riverparks authority has free "bike rental" stations. You use your credit card to put a deposit on a bike, but you're only charged if you don't bring the bike back. Somehow, I let the wife talk me into riding a couple. They're NOT built for 6'4" fat guys, but they made for a couple of cool shots, and I found fun things along the way (after I caught my breath). Mid ride, I had to make sure the shutter speed was WAY up there, as riding uphill into the wind on occasion had me a bit... exhausted.

Day103-2.jpg

Old bridge next to new bridge.

Day103-3.jpg

Not quite long enough for a vanishing point shot, but fun.

Day103-4.jpg

A couple of wisteria blooms we spotted along the trails. I needed a break anyway, so this was a good excuse to stop. "Really, dear, I just want to snap a picture (for 5 minutes)."

Day103-5.jpg

The riverside is a popular hangout for winter birds. Some, like the shots I posted earlier in this thread, hang out and nest in different areas, but this section of river is only active during the winter months.

Dood......exhausted? Man.....it was right there begging for it. Winded.....winded.

Most of the ride share bikes are for casual riding positions. Really hard to but your butt in to it.
