Thanks for the links Chris. Glad they managed to save & preserve that fine old station. Pennsy Girls FTW!
Nice composition Chuck and led by a very low numbered unit. Hard to believe that these locomotives are nearly 25 years old.
20+ years ago my wife and I were at NS Tower at Lima, OH and a CSX freight moved past with a dozen or so brand new wide cabs fresh out of GE Erie. The smell of fresh paint filled the air and it was a fun thing to see pass by.
Great picture from the way-back machine Sandpatch. You are forgiven for thinking those semaphore signals would stand forever. Who knew such a thing as PTC would kill them off in the future? Or that C&NW would die off either.
When I was young, Es and Fs were eternal fixtures on C&NW commuter trains. This F was captured at Mt. Prospect, IL on June 23, 1975. These photos are all scanned from old prints. I was crazy about locomotives when I was young, so I tightly cropped the prints. I'm hoping that the negatives show a bit wider view of things.

From the City of Toronto Archives collection, I found this somewhat old photo of the John Street roundhouse. It's almost as if the CP and Nikon are inviting fans to stop by.
