I have been frustrated shooting in the dark, so I tried something tonight. I focus using the front Fn button, with my left index finger straight out supporting the lens. Tonight I taped a low power led pencil light to it and used that as a pointer to illuminate the field for focus. I used the on-board flash with a diffuser and the fstop set to compensate. A couple of a moth and a couple of spiders, one big and one very small, in the dark

Since yesterday I have been on a spider hunt inside our house (my wife is beaming as I have discovered various nooks and crannies where our maid skimped "dusting). Today I found a few of their victims

Mosquito caught in the web. At least the spiders have done some good work.

I wouldn't get rid of that spider web. It may catch some more mosquitoes.

That is what I keep telling my wife. Any way that is not a big problem, as the spiders are much faster in making themselves a web than the maids in clearing them.

I am also a great fan of Geckos, as they catch a lot of cockroaches.

I took another look at the baby spiders today. I did a shot including the end of my finger to show scale, then cropped close to show the markings starting to show on the little bodies.
