There was a big geomagnetic storm that hit earth the last few mights. Two nights ago I went out to photograph the Aurora. It was beautiful!

Shot this around 7am today. Going down from the top right we have Venus, Jupiter and Mars. In the bottom left there is Mercury. There was a slight fog in the air, hence the halos.

Very nice shots J-see. Did you use an ND filter? If so, what? Also processing used. Thanks

The 300mm are day-shots using a 10-stop ND while the 135mm are night (pre-sunrise) shots. Processing is normal since the shots were exposed pretty correctly.

This is what a SOOC shot looks like.

I was trying to get a plane light trail coming from behind the buildings and across the sky. Didn't quite get the timing right partly because I left my remote at home and was relying on the timer, and partly because there was too much other stuff to shoot in between flights and I didn't have a watch to time the intervals between flights (about 10mins)

While waiting for the sun to rise, thought I would try a long exposure as the clouds go by, using a 10 stop filter, forgot the remote shutter, so had to set it on 30 seconds.
